Beacon says charity CRM data may have been accessed after access-key compromise
Victim Impact UpdateBeacon said a compromised access key was used to reach its systems and that around 1,500 UK charities using its CRM platform may have had personal data exposed, including names, email addresses, telephone numbers and donation records for organizations in healthcare and victim support. The company said the incident had been contained with help from external cybersecurity experts, that it had not observed ongoing unauthorized access, and that customers should assume stored data, including attachments, had been downloaded.
