Initial DisclosureDuckDuckGo rolled out a browser feature that blocks most YouTube video ads, including pre-roll and mid-roll ads, in the latest versions of DuckDuckGo for iOS, Mac, and Windows, with Android users able to enable it manually in Settings > Ad Blocking. The feature uses community-maintained filter lists from uBlock Origin plus DuckDuckGo compatibility rules, can be used alongside Duck Player, and may temporarily stop working when YouTube changes how it serves ads.
