Abdellah Belmili arrested in Spain over Market0Day and Spoxy marketplaces
Initial DisclosureUS authorities say Abdellah Belmili, also known as Dila Belmili and Spox, was arrested in Spain and extradited to the United States for allegedly running Market0Day between September and December 2020 and later creating Spoxy, a marketplace that offered bulk SMS services for mass phishing campaigns. The Justice Department says Belmili is accused of defrauding American Express, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, and financial institutions in the United Kingdom, with about $900,000 deposited into an account controlled by him and about 5,600 U.S. and international victims identified.
