Europol describes extremist distribution across gaming ecosystems
Technical Analysis UpdateEuropol described extremist creators recording scenes inside games or game chats, editing them with coded language, emojis or chants, and pushing the clips onto mainstream social networks, while also noting that some platforms built for gameplay streaming have been misused to livestream attacks or recruit minors. Europol specialists said they held multiple operational meetings before the action day so participating countries could exchange intelligence and refine best practices, and the EU IRU said it plans to publish a Transparency Report on 2024 terrorist-content monitoring, referrals, private-sector partners, and support for the Regulation on addressing the dissemination of terrorist content online.
